Poetry Stop – When Life Gets Hard

I wrote this poem a little while ago whilst thinking about some people who just can’t seem to let go of their burdens. They need to accept things, and make peace with the fact that something unpleasant happened; that’s life after all. You just need to move on. It isn’t the greatest poem ever, but I am hoping that some may find it inspiring…

When life gets hard,
As it sometimes will;
When the struggles you face
Are a bitter pill;
When it seems the world
Is dead against you;
When you feel bullied,
Beaten black and blue;
This is the time
That you have to choose,
Do something about it,
Or accept that you lose.
Make your decision
And then let it go,
Move on with your life,
Let your spirit grow.
Don’t hold on
To that grief and pain;
It won’t be good for you
And nothing is what you gain.
